As I have mentioned in previous posts, BRIGHT is where it’s at. I will be the first to say I wear my “go-to” black outfits more then I would like to admit. I tell myself this is OK once and ahile, because black makes me feel good and confident…even when I’m having a really off day, but I plan to change this. Going along with the idea the New Year brings change; it is time to actually take more chances in order to get to that point. I’m not sure about anyone else, but I fin myself holding my breath with the rough beginning of 2010. We have seen the devastating events locally, nationally and globally…and we are all keeping those affected by these struggles in our thoughts and prayers.
However, without forgetting, it’s time to move forward and take a leap of faith. Through thinking positive and seeing that light at the end of the tunnel, we can make small steps to make 2010 a little less depressing. Fashion isn’t only a great way to express individuality, but it’s a great escape from things that might get you down and out. In my opinion, what you wear can set you in a certain mood, just like a song.
While we all wish we could have a soundtrack to our life, constantly setting the appropriate frame of mine, rhythmically beating to our disposition…we know this is impossible (although iPod’s have been the closest thing to institute that plan)…but anyway, back to my point. One way to establish your character and your mood is your wardrobe. So, as well all are hoping for a change of pace, even a different rhythm to the 2010’s offset beat…think positive, think bright!
I like to keep my closet color coordinated, so its easy to pull out the bright pinks, blues, yellows and more to add some spice and take some risks! Per usual, I have picked out some charming, loud and explosive pieces from a few of my favorites.
As cliché as it sounds, while I’m ‘blabbing’ about this post, Cyndi Lauper’s song True Colors came on my iPod. How appropriate. So like Lauper says, remember:
“Don’t be afraid to let them show… Your true colors. True colors are beautiful, like a rainbow.”

O.K, I know this isn’t “bright”, but I LOVE this dress and you can pair it with chic, colorful heels or jewelry. Some ideas for shoes are these, Yves Saint Laurents:
